Not taking it easy anymore: Mthunzi

Young Blue Bulls young lock Mthunzi "Fudge" Mabeta has been tested positive for the use of cannabis.

The 21-year-old tested positive on 11 October at Loftus Versveld after the U21 semi-final against the Lions and will know his fate early in December.

Mabeta's legal representative Gerrie Swart said the case is sub judice and they are still negotiating with other parties whether Mabeta's second sample must also be tested.

If Mabeta's B sample is also positive he will have to appear before a disciplinary committee. Since cannabis is not considered a performance-enhancing drug, his sentence in unlikely to be a heavy one.

In the past, players who have been found guilty for the same offence were banned for three months.
