Hore`s Ospreys review to continue as normal

Nothing changes: Saturday's victory will not affect Hore's review of the Ospreys

Ospreys Elite Performance Director Andrew Hore has said the Welsh regions 23-6 EDF Energy Cup final win over Leicester will have no bearing on his review.

Having seen his side crash out of the Heineken Cup Ospreys' Chief Executive Mike Cuddy ordered a full investigation into the region. And despite Saturday's win Hore, the man charged with the investigation, has said he will not change what he is doing.

"One-off wins are not how we measure things, that's not what we're about," Hore told BBC Sport Wales.

"We're assessing the whole region and individuals in it, and we're doing it in a measured and calculated way."

It has been speculated that coach Lyn Jones' position will be under question after last week's surprise Heineken Cup quarter-final defeat at Saracens and a poor Magners League campaign.

But Hore previously stated that current staff should not feel under threat and that he intends to build on positions which are already in place, and his comments after the Twickenham victory warn against a simplistic interpretation.

"We have a lot of work to do in the high-performance area and I won't pre-empt the review," said the former Wales fitness coach.

"We have to let people be themselves, then see what we can do to help them to become great.

"The group did superbly to turn things around after Saracens, they showed how special they are.

"Silverware is always nice, it's fantastic for the region as a whole. It grows confidence and belief.

"As a nation Wales is too hard on itself when facing English teams. We have to realise that we are a rugby nation and they are not.

"Now we have to build from this, take the opportunities presented to us next year and build our true identity in world rugby."
