Hot water: Rabeni could be in serious trouble

Fiji and Leicester centre Seru Rabeni has been charged with three offences of conduct prejudicial to the interests of the game.

Rabeni is alleged to have played in a trio of Sevens tournaments while serving a fourteen-week - between April 1 and July 7 - suspension for making illegal contact with the eye area of Saracens hooker Andy Kyriacou last season.

Local press at one of the Sevens events that took place in Bath reported that Rabeni had played in nearly all of his Kavaiti All-stars team's pool and knockout matches in the tournament.

The Tigers star has been summoned to appear before an RFU Disciplinary Panel of Chairman Christopher Quinlan, John Doubleday and John Brennan at the Bristol Filton Holiday Inn on July 24.

If found guilty Rabeni could miss the start of Leicester's Guinness Premiership campaign.
