Montpellier hooker Fabien Rofes and scrum-half Julien Tomas have been given three and one week bans respectively after being given red cards in last Friday's European Challenge Cup match against Northampton.
Rofes was off by Welsh referee James Jones in the 73rd minute for stamping on an opponent.
After considering the evidence available, an independent Disciplinary Committee convened in Dublin on Friday determined that the offence was of the mid-range in the level of seriousness.
Having taken into account any mitigating and aggravating factors the Committee suspended Mr. Rofes for a period of three weeks, from the date of the match Saturday, 18 October, 2008 up to and including Sunday, 9 November 2008.
The same Disciplinary Committee suspended Tomas for week after being sent off by Jones in the 32nd minute for striking an opponent. The bans mean both players will miss Montpellier's Top 14 match against Bourgoin on Saturday.
At a separate hearing Perpignan hooker Guilhem Guirado was cleared of eye gouging charges after being cited following last Saturday's ECC game against Ospreys.
