Missing out: Rosalen sidelined for early season

Montauban fly-half Cédric Rosalen is set to miss the start of this season's Top 14 and Heineken Cup due to a knee injury.

The former Perpignan and Narbonne star tore ligaments in his right knee during last weekend's pre-season friendly against league rivals Brive.

The loss of their playmaker comes as a significant blow to the French side, who are preparing for their first campaign in Europe's top club competition this term.

Rosalen signed for Montauban this summer with All Black pivot Dan Carter filling his shoes at his old side come November on a 'sabbatical' deal.
